|While there is logical development to the candidate's response, a greater,
and more accurate, range of cohesive devices would improve the flow of
the text considerably. For example, the candidate writes:
"According to analyze the pros and cons .." Follow “The IELTS School of Toronto” on n
This is an inaccurate use of a linking device. Better would be:
"In order to analyze the pros and cons ... etc."
TO IMPROVE: The candidate should could use a more accurate and wider variety of cohesive devices according to the meaning of the text.
| Lexical Resource
|The candidate has demonstrated the ability to use a reasonable range of vocabulary but there are significant errors which affect meaning. Examples include, 'On' (line 1), 'prior' (line 6), 'well' and 'learn' (line 10). TO IMPROVE: The candidate should improve the accuracy of word choices, particularly in the context of familiar phrases such as "in the long term" or "In recent years".|
| Grammatical Range and Accuracy
|The candidate has attempted complex sentences and a range of grammar structures but with a considerable number of errors which, at times, have affected meaning. Examples include conditional structures without 'if' (line 3), missing prepositions (line 3), inaccurate tense usage (line 9)
TO IMPROVE: The candidate should improve the accuracy of word choices, particularly in the context of familiar phrases such as "in the long term" or "In recent years".
